The Perfume Society

Standard

Last week I received this wonderful little parcel from The Perfume Society

10th June 2014 017

A tiny treasure trove packed with samples of Versace Crystal Noir, Paco Rabanne Lady Million (arguably one of my favorite commercials of all time), Nina Ricci L’air du Temps, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Noir, Chloe eau de parfum, Salvador Dali Wild, Atkinsons 24 Old Bond Street, Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel, and a handbag sized Crabtree & Evelyn Lily ultra-moisturizing hand therapy.  There is a specially printed card to accompany each which details each sample’s fragrance family, top, heart, and base notes, a bit of history about the fragrance, and some ideas to consider while you are trying each sample.

Also included the box is a book of perfume blotters which is very useful when out sampling fragrances, and an adorable robin’s egg blue Perfume Society note book.  What can I say??  I love stationery.   🙂

This sample box is included in the £25 VIP Subscription which also gives me access to all of the events organised by The Perfume Society, which can be found here.  I unfortunately had to miss the first Scent Workshop which took place this past Saturday at Les Senteurs (but there is another one taking place in early August); however, I am very excited to be attending the Q&A with Guerlain’s Master Perfumer Thierry Wasser on Thursday, both of which were free to me as a subscriber.  I am also attending the gorgeously titled “Perfumes & Powder Puffs” with Caron and Odette Toilette in July, which cost just £15 and is redeemable against a purchase.

The Perfume Society also publishes their own e-magazine, The Scented Letter, which is a fantastic, wide-ranging resource to use in exploring the world of perfume.  The first issue featured Lily of the Valley, a bit of its history and interpretations in fragrance, as well interviews (Karl Lagerfeld, Dominique Ropion, and Anne Flipo amongst others), insights, perfume launches (categorized by fragrance family), and events.

Maybe the best £25 I have ever spent.

I’m really tempted to join this but living where I do I doubt I’d be able to take part in one of the major perks, the events. My nearest large cities are Liverpool and Manchester but they’re still a fair distance away. Hope you enjoy your events! Will you be doing a post on them?
