Going Radical

Radical Skincare 003

Perhaps because spring is blooming in London (although you wouldn’t know it looking out the window today), but lately I have been feeling that my skin has been looking a bit lacklustre.  So I began to search for a new skincare regime, which turned into a bit of an epic quest.  To be completely honest I found the whole process thoroughly overwhelming.  I spent weeks researching various products, each one seemingly having its own special patented ingredient and all of them having varying reviews.  Then I started to feel even more skeptical because there were also products available to buy on the review sites, and I just started to wonder how much % of the sales generated by those sites made it back to the reviewer.  The whole process was making me feel like a cynical cow, which couldn’t have been good for my skin!

So I decided to bite the bullet and purchased Radical Skincare’s Anti-Aging Restorative Moisture, which was recommended to me at Space NK.  I did initially ask to try a sample, but I was told none were available, which I found rather disappointing given its price point.  I mean I was sort of the thinking, okay if you believe in your product so much, then you should be willing to allow possible customers to sample it.  But I digress!  I did a hefty amount of research into the Radical line, and I was impressed to find out that the line was developed by the daughters of a world renowned Professor of Plastic Surgery to deal with their own skin issues.  From what I have read the line is based on Trylacel technology, which is said to “combine multiple antioxidants, maximum level of anti-aging active ingredients, and soothing ingredients, to deliver the best in anti-aging, protection and repair, for all skin types.  It maintains stability and potency of actives to deliver radical results.” (The quote is taken from the literature provided with the moisturizer)

Back to the review…

My first impression upon opening the jar was that the moisturiser does look incredibly nourishing. It has a very rich whipped texture and looks almost gold in color but I found that it left no color on my skin once applied.

It felt very silky upon application, and a small amount went quite a long way (just a bean sized amount covered most of my face).  It has a really refreshing, citrus-like fragrance to it, and it left my skin with a gentle tingling sensation for a few minutes after application whilst absorbing.

Today is my first day using Radical’s moisturiser, but I will continue to update as I use the moisturiser more to record my results.
